What is the fluid cleaner for volume pots called and where to get it? I think there is a spray fluid for curing noisy pots. On valve amps.Am I right?

The "classic" one was "ELECTROLUBE", no longer commercially available. Snap it up at car boots if you should see it!
But I often used, and still do, sewing machine oil or "3 in 1" applied directly to the track by squirting through any convenient aperture in the potentiometer body. Trust me, it does no damage and effects the circuit not one jot, just removes the roughness that causes the problem.
Servisol works almost as well; really intended to remove tarnish on switches but has some lubricating properties. wears off quicker than oil, though.

Noisy pots can often be cured (temporarily) for free.
Just rotate the operating knob a dozen or so times over the whole range. The carbon track will "lubricate" itself.

Thanks Maurice and Martin. I've tried the rotating bit, so I will try Martins tip using 3in1 oil.

I found it difficult to get oil into the body of the pot, but by undoing the fixing nut I was able to get some in and it definitely helps. Thanks Martin.
