Hi,

I have a Bauer P8 Universal Professional and it takes 24v. 250 watt bulbs. On the small sticker underneath the bulb it says: "24v MAX. 250 watt". Does that mean I can also use for example 24v. 200 watt bulbs?

Can I for example change the ELC 24/250w for a ESC 24/200w ?

Thanks!

Yes.
Of course.
But why?
Continue to use your ELC lamps and just use the low setting on the lamp selector.

Well, because I live in the middle of nowhere, in a village in the mountains of the Czech Republic. Problem is, next saturday I've organized an outdoor summer cinema in the village and my bulb just burned... I've got a spare one, but I don't think it's new so I want to be sure I have another spare. No projector bulb shop nearby I'm afraid. My drawer is filled with bulbs in all sizes, among two ESC 24/200w.

My old neighbour brought me some cartoons his father showed in the sixties as a travelling cinema. Turned out to be a couple of Tom & Jerries ("Baby Butch" for example), Silly Symphonies ("On Ice", Goofy, in Kodachrome (I think, yellow sound track) and Agfa 2S, magnificent colors, no fade whatsoever. Mounted on really old Czechoslovak reels. Some have Czech subtitles. Amazing.

Harm
By all means use an ESC.
Good luck with your show. [Smile]

DEFINITELY. [Big Grin]
No problem running smaller wattage than spec'd in projector, but not vice versa. In practice some 10% overspeced load would be tolerable, for a short period, but not in the long run.

Thanks guys!

I just opened up my Eumig S940 and low and behold, there was a 24v/250w inside... Then I drove to the nearest town, visited a few shops and... sure enough, the last shop I visited had a few EFR 15v/150w in stock, so I bought a couple for my Eumig. Now I'm ready to go! [Big Grin]
