Hi Everybody, FYI.. im new to Film projectors
I have just bought a Bell & Howell FILMOSOUND 1592 from ebay for cheap, it plays okay ish.. but does not play in reverse ... i took the film out and put it in reverse and it seems fine .. everything seems strong..it "REWINDS" just fine... what is the most likely cause of this please ?
its not too loud in forward so hopefully worm gear is ok..
any thoughts are Much appreciated cheers Rob
EDIT
it tries a little to reverse, but then stops.
also, when checked with film out, the sprockets did indeed reverse direction as they should.
it is like something is not disengaging when put into reverse ..
i assume i should be able just to flick it into reverse and that should be it ? or do i have do something else ?
ta.

Try opening the rear cover&have a look if there's anything slipping while in reverse mode?

thanks, theres a video that mentions the reverse issue on an almost accidental PJ, at 19:28 .

i think this is where the issue may lie..
as to your "slippage" comment, as i say everything feels strong with no film in.. but yeah il crack the back open at some point.
cheers rob
