Hi,
today I got a IB 35mm print of this Title so I want to sell now my 16mm Print.

THIS ISLAND EARTH 16mm IB Tech.
Condition: Excelent, some people say for this quality near mint.
Print is complete IB Tech. only the Universal Logo at the beginning is replacement. They are only very, very light lines. See actual screen shots.
Island Earth
On the screen it looks like on this pics, of course no vinegar. I donīt know if they are any splice, I donīt noticed anything at screening.
Price $1900 incl. Worldwide shipping.

This topic should probably be moved to the 16mm section, no?

On a related note, I just learned that Classic Home Cinema has dropped their plans for a super 8mm release of THIS ISLAND EARTH. I quote: "We have offered this as a possiility for a year, but had poor response. We no longer have plans to release it."

Somewhere, a giant mutant bug-thrall is quietly weeping . . .

Oh sorry, Kevin can you please move this on the 16mm forum. It was a mistake.
Yes I made Classic Home this offer but they told me, they are not enough orders.
I have two 35mm prints one is complete and the other one has one damaged reel. Both are very good german IB Techs. And now I need money and I must sell my 16mm IB tech. and if it is sold, the chance for a S8 release (with english title) is gone.

Maybe we should try and help Phil by establishing a level of demand, via this forum, in such instances. When 'This Island Earth' was discussed here - in terms of potential as a feature release - a while back, some people expressed an inclination to buy it, but maybe they never told Phil.

I'd rather that Oemer's 35mm print (if he was willing) was used as the master, though, even if it has German titles!

Topic moved!

Adrian,

Excellent idea. If Phil is considering a few different titles we could certainly help narrow down the choices or even put our money where our posts are and place deposits down. I do like "This Island Earth" but the digest version is fine with me.

I agree with you, Doug. Although it will always remain a Bug-Eyed Monster classic, the film takes a long while to get going. I don't yet own the digest, but I would love to find it.

Doug & Scott
If you have/get the digest, and it has pretty good colour, consider yourself lucky. I recently had 2 copies and both were very badly faded - beyond what I'd consider watchable.

Hi,
sadly my Universal 8 digest is going red as well but I do prefer this 400ft version to the full feature. The original does seem to take a while to get moving.
Paul.

I take the point about the feature taking a while to get going, although the 400' gets going a bit too quickly for my liking! A 2 x 600' or 3 x 400' could have worked very well.
