Isn't there a confusion between Dutch (the language of the Netherland) and German (the language of Germany) as German is Deutsch in German ?

Posted by Koen Keevel (Member # 4109) on October 24, 2014, 02:54 PM:

Yes I think indeed the Deutsch and Dutch is the misspelling [Smile]
Would be a laugh though to see a move like that in dutch.

I have to post something that particularly annoys me.

I inquired about 2 films on this list. Aristocats, and Jungle Book. I asked the price and condition of each film.

I was informed the price of each was 200 euros, and that:

Jungle Book: Good color
Aristocats: Very good color

I tried to request the type of film stock, but Stefano's message box was full all week. Once I finally got through yesterday, I was told they were now on Ebay.

Wow, thanks a lot! Way to go -- lure forum members, only to turn your back on them [Mad] [Mad] [Mad]

Worse yet....NOW the prices are MUCH higher. Instead of 200 euros each, the prices are now:

Jungle Book: 249 euros
Aristocats: 229 euros

So not only was I passed over for Ebay (despite showing interest AND not being able to message him), but then he jacks up the price to boot! [Mad]

Good luck selling them....I now have zero interest in doing business with you Stefano. Very, VERY shady. [Mad]

GOOD COLOR ......vs........VERY GOOD COLOR

Might be Eastman Color....Only to be followed by early date code of Fuji color....Says Nothing to me without specific information on film stock... [Roll Eyes]

Precisely why I wanted to know the film stock. Couldn't get a message back to him all week due to a full inbox (I tried 2x a day). When I got through Friday morning, I find out he still doesn't know, and says they are now listed on Ebay. With higher prices to boot! [Mad]

Hi there
stefano replied within 24h at my two emails sent directly to his email adres not via the forum's inbox
He sent me pics of mary poppins and the aristocats
he spontaneously mentionned that the aristocats was on eastman 38 stock.
I presume that ebay prices are higher because the fees.

Eastman 38 stock...Eastman 3B stock is crap if the price is high save your money even it has a hint of color...that WILL fade [Roll Eyes] unless its under $100
especially when you add in shipping.... [Eek!]

I initially asked on 10/21.

He initially told me he didn't know the stock and couldn't find out until the weekend.

He then asked which films I was 'specifically' interested in (I had initially inquired about 5 titles). I narrowed it down to Jungle Book and Aristocats. He wrote me back again (10/21/14), asking "so you only want to know the film stock of Aristocats and Jungle Book?". I tried to reply, but his pm box was full (I wasn't aware of his email address, and he himself stated to use Private Message in this very thread).

I got through Friday morning (10/25) after trying every day, 2x a day (morning and night), to PM him. That was 8:17am EST. 10 minutes later, I get this reply:

i cant' see at this moment film stock of films...
ARISTOCATS has very good colors
JUNGLE good colors
now they're on ebay
next week maybe i can see it

So, when exactly did he tell you and show you Bruno? Because he didn't tell me anything other than what he initially stated, 4 days earlier. No pictures, no film stock, nothing.

And if I WAS interested, WHY list it on Ebay without letting me have first shot? Totally ridiculous.

Hi David,

i emailed him on october the 25th at 17:51 gmt
he replied today at 12h37 gmt

hi bruno that's pic from ARISTOCATS
eastman 38 stock
price is 200 euro plus ship (on cores)
thanks

So he replied to you AFTER me.....almost 2 days later....and offered it to you (despite telling me it was on Ebay and not offering me any other option).

And it is currently on Ebay, too. Which means if he offered it to you Bruno, and you wanted it, I assume he'd pull it off Ebay even if someone was bidding on it already.

Again...this is why I won't deal with this guy. Lies, deceit, shadyness. No thanks.

david, you accuse me: Lies, deceit, shadyness ... when we made further negotiations?
I put the film on ebay, so as not to waste time with Collectors just like you who makes 1000 questions and then do not buy...
Please, look at my feedback on ebay before you judge me!

ALL FILMS, NOW AND SOON, AVALIABLE ON EBAY. MY NICKNAME: elleacca
NO MORE PRIVATE SALES. THANKS

Stefano, you are an absolute joke.

I asked you pricing on 5 titles. Once you replied, I narrowed it down to 2 titles, which was more of what I wanted. I did not ask you "1000 questions".

I asked you 2. T W O. Can you count Stefano? Here's the questions I asked:

1.) Price
2.) Film stock

I asked film stock because ANYONE interested in a title, is going to want more than "good color" or "very good color" as a description, unless they are an amateur.

Yes, you are shady and you are a liar. I was fully interested and ALL I WANTED WAS THE FILM STOCK. I've been dealing in films for over 30 years, since I was a kid (and my dad was doing it since 1957). Instead, you tell me you don't know what the film stock is, and in the same reply, tell me it's now on Ebay.

But but BUT THEN! TWO DAYS LATER, you tell another member on here (Bruno) what the film stock is, AND offer it to him OFF of Ebay.

Total BS.

leave me alone, david... never mind
and do not you dare accuse me thus arbitrarily!
good luck!

Ive been watching this the past few days. While not wanting to get involved.. here are my thoughts.

IMO this is not the best place to hash things like this out. The past few comments could have been sent in private, and not for the whole forum to see.

Not going to play peacemaker here, I just wanted to let it be known how someone on the outside watching feels.

Mike I normally agree, and it's why I didn't start copying the private messages themselves.

But when a person offers to sell items *on this forum*, it's expected that they will do just that. Not:

1.) Let their private messages fill up to the point of being full for days.

2.) Not getting me the answer I request on items that are listed for sale.

3.) Turning around and listing items on Ebay I had an interest in (why even post it for sale HERE in the first place?)

(and most importantly)

4.) 2 days later, offering the same titles I was interested in, to another member, AND supplying filmstock information (which he claimed he couldn't do 2 days earlier) -- all while the items were currently listed on Ebay. So if someone were interested and bid on the items on Ebay, and the member here wanted it...then who gets screwed? That's shady to say the least.

I don't mind if someone else wanted to purchase the items if I declined. But when I am told "sorry, cant sell it to you -- now on Ebay", and then I find out 2 days later the same items were made for sale to another member, that's very shady. And the lies speak for themselves. No worries, I am not buying the titles nor will I deal with Stefano either.

And the reason I put this in the forum is that other members should be made aware when stuff like this goes down. I know I'd want to.

I apologize if I gave somewhat bothersome to other forum members.
For the disgraceful attitude of david, he says it himself, if he believes...
if I have to be driven from the forum or not, will be decided by the moderators, not by david!

I cant say I agree with everything that took place, but the point has been made. I don't know what coming back and posting on the subject is going to accomplish on either fronts.

Now... where is that dead horse Graemlin... hmm...

Posted by David C. Lucidi (Member # 4020) on October 27, 2014, 11:29 AM:

I'll say this:

Moderators, if you want a copy (sent privately) of the private conversation that took place between myself and Stefano, I'll be happy to show it. Private message me and I will take it from there.

I don't post false accusations, and I don't come onto forums to drum up drama. I will back up every single thing I have said in this forum, period, end of discussion. I notice that Stefano has yet to dispute a single thing I have called him out on. Interesting....

I do, however, call out BS when it happens. If that gets me booted from the forum, so be it -- I'll stick to the 16mm dedicated ones.

Seems to me that Stefano made a big mistake by advertising on this forum first and then on EBay afterwards. Had it been the other way round all this nastiness would have been avoided. Not nice to see this 'dirty washing' aired in this way. We all want to get the best price for our collectables and EBay seems to be the way to go unfortunately. That being the case I always list on Ebay and then post the listing on the Forum. Simples!

Just wanted to add my positive experience with Stefano here, who was very communicative and accommodating.

I sent him an email (not a PM...If his inbox is full, his email is listed right there, too) about a title I was interested in. I asked about condition, color and film stock.

He got back to me quickly with condition and film stock info and sent pics a day or two later. I purchased the print and he shipped it within a couple days.

When I received the print, I had an issue with condition, but he responded literally within a FEW MINUTES (!!!) of my email. He apologized and offered a partial refund that we agreed on. That's a good seller.

I would absolutely buy from Stefano again. He was quick to respond and eager to make the buyer happy.

Mike

I want to write here too, that I bought the Moulin Rouge print from Stefano. It was a good transaction without any problem. The communication was also very good.
It was my first purchase from Stefano, and I would buy again from him.
