What is your favorite line from a movie? One of mine is from "My Darling Clementine" Henry Fonda says to the bartender "Mac, have you ever been in love". Mac says "No, I've been a bartender all my life".

I know this post has probably been done before and that "frankly some of you might not give a damn" and are "mad as hell and aren't going to take it anymore". But "that was then and this is now". [Roll Eyes]

P.S. "I can't go without my coffee Jeff" 'bang' 'bang' 'bang'

I just remembered one of my favorite bits of dialogue, between the Cary Elwes character and Inigo Montoya (sp?) in "The Princess Bride" ...

"You seem like a nice fella. I hate to kill you." - "You're rather likable yourself. I hate to die."

(Well, it went *roughly* like that, don't remember the exact wording) [Smile]

I have three favorite lines.

1: "Ariel, Listen to me. The Human World....it's a mess."

Sebastion from Disney's The Little Mermaid

2: "I feel like a defective typewriter....I missed a period."

Rizzo to another Pink Lady in the movie Grease (Drive in Rest Room scene)

3: "If you can't be an athlete, be an atheltic supporter."

The principal's microphone speech to Rydell High School, from the movie Grease

Ba***** asked me to understudy Konstantin in The Seagull. I'm not going to understudy anybody. Especially that pimp! Anyway, I loathe those Russian plays. Always full of women staring out of windows, whining about ducks going to Moscow.

AKA Withnail and I (1987)

"I'll hum it for you...."

You know where, when, and who !!! If you don't, what are you doing on a film forum?

Seems crazy that such a topical post has taken 14 years to re-surface. I would rate this almost as good as Lee's "What films did you show last night?" but not quite.
Thank you Steven for resurrecting it.

Withnail and I is full of so many fantastic lines.

Raiders of the Lost Ark...

Indy, "Get back to Cairo, get us some transport to England, boat, plane, anything. I'm goin' after that truck".

Salah - "How?"

Indy - "I dunno, I'm making this up as I go".

Boy! Talk about a really old thread. This might be one of the oldest restarted! A possible record ...

My tag-line "Tears in the Rain" is a favorite, but I'm also quite fond of Eastwood ...

"Go ahead ... make my day!"

(gee, does that mean I am anti-social in nature?!) [Smile]

Also from GWTW

Sorry my dear I don't give a damn

It's been a while since I've seen that great movie but I think I'm right at least

I think it was "Frankly, my dear" Not "Sorry".

Not a classic by any means but Sid James last line line here from carry on abroad is great. First time i heard it i couldnt stop laughing,
Kenneth williams arrives at the hotel reception and sates "My name is Stuart Farquhar, the representative of Wundatours".
Pepe : "Stupid what"?
Stuart Farquhar : "STUART! STUART FARQUHAR"!
Sid James replies 'i think he was right the first time".

Or "is it safe"?

Tom, I've always laughed at Stupid What?

I think that makes it a classic.

God bless Kennith Williams and all the cast for their brilliance.

Well, I'm probably wrong on the detail but I think it's Alien 2 when taking the copter down to the planet the guy in charge says to the pilot, "Take us in", and the female pilot says "5 by 5" and descends. Gets me every time. Another is when Jack Hawkins as the vicar in Zulu is shut behind the wooden door and is told "Not to upset the men, there's a good gentleman". So many.
