Hi everyone.

Kevin Faulkner has volunteered to moderate the forums. I would ideally like to get 2 more members who visit the site on a daily basis to join him for a team of 3. If anyone else is interested, please drop me an email.

Everyone please welcome Kevin in handling the moderating. [Smile]

Thanks Guys but just make sure you all stick to the rules [Wink]

I do think as Brad said in his opening post that we should have another 2 moderators and yes I think it would be a good idea if we had a global split. What a good way to improve your English Ugo. And yes how about it Lance or Doug.
Lets keep this forum alive and make it a real friendly place for all users.
I will be watching like a Hawk [Wink]

I think that as Moderator, it is fair to say
that Jedi Master / Moderator, (in this order)
can remain as a fitting description for Mr. Elmo.
Perhaps this alias can be added
to the Marquee. [Smile]

Congratulations!

Best,
Michael

Cheers Kevin - What does one have to do in order to moderate a forum? - I might be of a mind, not definite, I might - Shorty

Posted by Kevin Faulkner (Member # 6) on January 30, 2005, 11:26 AM:

Hi Shorty,
Really its a matter of keeping it all together. Just checking through the posts daily and making sure they are in the right place and that there are now Wars starting on any of the threads! or unruly behaviour. Oh, and I nearly forgot - make sure there are no teaser titles to the posts [Wink] Titles really should be meaningful and give readers an idea of the contents before they actually click on the thread to read it. One rule which Brad cast in stone which I really think is good is that people who sign up to use the Forum should use their real name and not some nickname. People signing up with nicknames will have their membership denied.
Its a case of being sensible about it all and I think being friendly in the way that you handle any probs.
Give it a go. A US moderator would certainly be a good idea because of the time diff we have between the US and UK. If something happens which is not liked it can be corrected by whoever gets to see it first.
With all the other forums that Brad has to moderate etc, at least this gives him a bit of a break.
Give it a go, Kev.

Wouldn't this topic's title be considered a teaser, since one wouldn't know who the new moderator was until one went to read the topic? [Big Grin]

Just kidding! [Cool]

Thanks, everyone!

Jan,

Although I love my projectors (GS-1200 xenon, GS-1200 standard, ST-1200HD, ST-800, Bauer T510,Eumig S940, etc.), I prefer to concentrate on the film collecting aspect. I have approx. 70 features and 270 digests.
In real life I'm a cinematographer, working in both film & TV.

Doug
