Hello all
I've finally been registered!
I've only been 'into' projected film for a couple of months and already heard the dreaded "not another projector" from she who must be obeyed.
Just wondering if I'm the only one banished to the movie room with my tail between my legs?

Stuart, welcome to the forum, hope you find all the assistance you require.
Don’t worry; you are not alone in the Wife department. I tried to sell mine on Ebay but listing was removed because you cannot sell live stock.

Yes Stuart, a warm welcome to you. Hope you enjoy the banter etc and eventually find yourself well involved one way or the other.
It will probably end up that she who must be obeyed will get well and truly fed up because you are now on the PC all the time with the rest of it spent playing with your projectors.
Anyway, Enjoy. Kev

Hello Stuart
Welcome
Mike
ps. The secret is in finding new places to hide the projectors, have you got a shed?
Posted by David Park (Member # 123) on March 04, 2006, 09:24 AM:
Hi,
I got a big shed but that is my cinema!
Spare room is full of bits and pieces, loft full as well, and I go out Monday and get a car full more!
Anyone in UK got a spare bedroom for me if I end up homeless?

David
That sounds all to familiar! I also had projectors and films all over the house but we had to pack up our home in order to go off travelling for a year, I sold quite a bit of stuff but have put most of it in storage. Just recently I´ve been fantasising about opening up those boxes again when I get home!
Can´t wait to get a cine fix

Hi and welcome.
What actually got you interested in the 8mm side?
Posted by Michael De Angelis (Member # 91) on March 05, 2006, 01:06 AM:
Welcome Stuart,
I sent out a payment today for an 8mm title,
and my wife spoke in a very dreary - worn out,
but, all right attitude: "Another Film?"
I suppose when the pots and pans start flying as
in the conclusion to the Laurel & Hardy feature:
The Sons of the Desert, that we need to learn
how to duck and dodge the incoming artillery.
But it sure helps to practice now.
Best,
Michael

Hi all,
I opened my box today and while reading the side of the Blackhawk received the look of death , needless to say I quickly packed it all away and went back to washing the dishes...

Welcome Stuart! I love that signature of yours... if I recall correctly the line is from 2010 - The Year We Make Contact ... am I correct?
As for She Who Must Be Obeyed... ignore her and keep going for those films you desire... she'll realize eventually that there is no hope of stopping you (I speak from experience)

Stuart,if you are carrying a recently purchased projector into the house, always walk backwards. Then,if the dragonlady catches you, say,"I'm off to sell this" and walk forward out of the house-and danger!

Here's another voice of welcome, Stuart.
Keep up the good work; I'm sure your Lady will soon succumb to the old adage - "If you can't beat 'em, join 'em"!
Best,
Dave.

Stuart,
Not to sound calculating, but in order to
carry on, by evading the penetrating
X-Ray vision- which will melt you
into a puddle of goo,
It's best to 'come-clean,'
as Ollie says to Stan.
Always purchase a film that the family
will be entertained with.
I once purchased the trailer combo
to Saturday Night Fever, and every time
I put out a film program, I'm asked:
You've got to run Saturday Night Fever.
As if it were the main feature!
Before you realize, they will be making
the popcorn, and putting out the chips.
All of the other films will be secondary
and you will share in a wonderful hobby
together.
If it doesn't work, remember never to
blame me. - Then it's best to head to
Them Thar Hills
