Less than 2 weeks to go now.

Who's going??

I'll be there, can't wait! [Smile]

I'll be there all being well, always a good day!! Big thanks to Keith and John etc for organising these events and keeping the hoby alive..

I'll be there. I'm having a major clear-out, so I booked a table and will bring lots of goodies.
Stop by and say hello!

I will be there.

I'll be there, I hope to find something useful like the 800' 16mm split spool found at Rob's stall last year

I am looking for new ski boots. I once really did find a pair (at Birmingham) as well as 1000 old spoons on one of the most pointless stalls I've ever seen. If I'd have been the organiser, I'd not have let this joker in!

And we'll be having a similar event here, something I've long thought on, film show in NJ, thanks to John Black's dedication -

Look forward to seeing you guys there, should be a good turn out then.

I'd like, but I don't know yet. Someone sending a PM to tell me in details how I could get there, considering I'd be leaving from Verona, Italy? Thanks.
Or, even better, any Italian collector going there?

Posted by John Clancy (Member # 49) on October 05, 2009, 02:48 AM:

Fabrizio and three others are coming over from Italy I believe Gian. But if you need directions just let me know.

I would urge anyone who is procrastinating to make the effort. I hope film conventions will survive but for sure, they ain't going to be on this scale. One more next March and then I think we have to hope for something smaller.

I shall be there as always. Just shot a 3D music video for my good friend David Fisher and his latest album Honeytrap on which I play bass (available now on Itunes!). Too late to get it in for this BFCC's 3D show, but we remain hopeful for the next one.

Well i hope everyone will come along to see my screening print of The Italian Job being the 40th anniversary along with a full supporting soundtrack. Plus to celebrate the work of Troy Kennedy Martin who I was fortunate to meet before he passed away last month.

Hi John, I will contact Fabrizio, but all info to get there will be appreciated.
Just mail me, if possible: gloncri (at) hotmail (dot) it

Thanks a lot.

I was hoping to be there and help Rob out on his table, but we have a big family gathering planned for later in the day to mark an important birthday (not mine) so my services are required at home.

However, I'm thinking about going up early so that I can be around for the first couple of hours and then scoot off at lunch time.

I missed Mays event and future events are uncertain so will make the effort to be there, even if it's only for a couple of hours.

A nice big bottle of cider to be drunk in the lunchtime break as usual. See you all in the projection area after the morning shows then.

Hi-John

See you early Saturday morning as per usual.

Murray says he is coming along early too to help erect the screen.

Cheers MW

You'll be missed Jean-Marc.

Simon, I'll bring the mustard!

Mark, your help is always very much appreciated. My brother-in-law Tim will be present as well so we should make good time to get the wind in the sails... or rather, to get the screen up!

Hi all,

Will again strive to make the effort.

A "major" fly in the ointment is that I've just been offered a 16mm Ampro Major Mk3 AND a Mk4; both mint and complete in every respect with all accessories including speakers etc. - and all for the price of collection!!! - I'll post some photos on the Forum once I've got them set up. [Big Grin] [Big Grin] [Big Grin]

They HAVE to be collected on Saturday, so will endeavour to make an appearance at Ealing if at all possible, [Frown] but you know me.....the merest mention of the word Ampro, and I go weak at the knees!!! [Embarrassed]

With all the usual best regards to everyone, particularly John and Keith - you guys have my gratitude - even by proxy - if I can't make it in time.

Cheers,

Are all the usual dealers going to be there?

Posted by Mikael Barnard (Member # 1637) on October 13, 2009, 04:50 PM:

Well I spoke to Umit earlier this evening and he said whilst he may show up to buy some stuff (if he can make it at all) he won't be there as a dealer this time. So that's one down. I'm sure there'll be plenty of other regulars though!

In just 48 hours I will be boarding the plane to London. I can't wait! I have been needing a London fix for about a decade now... and I can't wait to look for super 8 films wherever I can!

Posted by John Clancy (Member # 49) on October 14, 2009, 03:08 AM:

I've warned Keith you're coming Brian. Make sure you come to see us as soon as you're there.

Mikael, Umit haven't had a table of their own for a number of years now. Other than that the dealer hall is going to be rather jam packed this time. Should be a corker for a modern film collecting event.

John,
will the bring&buy stall be there?

Posted by Paul Adsett (Member # 25) on October 14, 2009, 12:37 PM:

Have a great trip Brian! You will find great friendship and hospitality at Ealing and a superb film convention , just be sure to take plenty of pics and post them here. The day will go very fast, and there is so much to see, so try to be there when the doors open.

Think on me when you go through the shorts

Posted by John Clancy (Member # 49) on October 15, 2009, 03:20 AM:

Yes, the bring and buy will still be there. Downstairs section of the restaurant somewhere this time fighting for space with the rest of the dealers.

Remember to use the back stairs to get up and down to the cinema. And drinkies in the projection area at lunchtime. I'd really like as many as possible to say 'hello' to the chaps from Italy, the chaps from Greece and Brian from New York. Who have I forgotten from overseas?

OH DEEP JOY!! [Big Grin] [Big Grin] [Big Grin]

I have managed to arrange to pick up the Ampros on Sunday - so I'll be at Ealing bright and early after all!!! [Big Grin] [Big Grin] [Big Grin]

Looking forward to seeing everyone again.

Cheers,

Hi John,

Message received and understood!

BTW, will you require any speaker cable? I have a couple of reels if that helps, but no spare connectors.

Unfortunately I have got to dip out of this one as a family commitment has arisen.

I will hope to see a full report of the days proceedings on here from some of the members attending.

Would it be possible forum members attending the event to give a live coverage, especially for stealing price items... [Big Grin]

eg. Message topic "Hey folks 3x400" Once Upon Time for £ 10!?"

or post a picture of a crate containing: "Hey folks they are £ 2 ea for 400" digest"

[Razz]

cheers,

Just for you Winbert I will give you live picture updates, but I will not be taking much money so you will have to come over to pick up the films yourself [Big Grin]

Thanks David but we don't need any speaker cable... assuming Mr. Wilton hasn't lost it all of course.

See you all in the morning. Quite possibly only one more after this so anyone dithering, get on your bike!
