Hello everyone,
Im about to purchase a replacement projector for my Eumig mark S which has gone skyward unfortunately and would like the forums advice on which projectors to keep an eye out for on E bay, my budget is about £200 so i would guess that will rule out any of the Elmo`s.
Are the Chinon`s any good ? I would like a sound unit so please help out if you can find the time
Thanks Stewart

Be very careful about buying projectors on eBay. There are many rogues and indifferent sellers, most of whom claim not to know much about what they're selling, "I think it works."
I recommend buying from a dealer, why not try Phil Sheard at Classic Home Cinema in Cleethorpes. (See his website.)
Perhaps a UK Forum member has a suitable projector for sale.

Have you checked out http://super8film.at/en_index.htm ? I bought mine from him, no problem at all.

I bought an Elmo GS-1200 from Stephan which was very expensive. It gave trouble right out of the box and has cost me a lot of money to get it running well.
My advice is to think very carefully about doing business with this seller.

Thanks Maurice, your right there are so many pitfalls when buying something unseen and untested,i agree that my safest bet would be to hope that a trusted forum member has a projector for sale. I will jeep my eyes open in the forum posts.
Thanks mate

Stewart, I would only buy from UK dealers or collectors. There are enough of them here to save you bothering with overseas postage and conversion rates. If there is a problem its a lot easier sending it back here, and the strength of the Euro dosent help. just my opinion.
