Again this is not a film related question but I prefer to drop here, because we know each other better. So I may get quick and clear answer.

Here is the thing.

As you may have known that I am finishing my term this June. Before leaving Canada for Indonesia, I am planning to take my family to Orlando, Florida for vacations.

Having seen many ads, I found there are a lot of incredible offers almost too good to be true, eg:

My friend says beware they are "TIME SHARE", which is very American thing.

I don't understand it, so can you guys tell me what should I be aware of these offers.

Further if you have bought such offer can you share here or through PM at winbert (at) hotmail (dot) com please.

Apart from there, any suggestion how the best way to get cheap admission to those theme parks. We are family of 4 (2 adults and 2 kids below 8 years old)

The only way to get into those parks cheap is sneak in before dawn and climb the fence!

Time shares work out very well for some people, but you need to be willing and able to take advantage of them to make it worthwhile.

We have friends that are such Disney freaks that they time share it down there once and sometimes twice a year.

Personally, the tenth or so time through the Small World, I'd want to jump out of the boat and drown myself.

The basic time share routine is to sit you down with a salesman in each ear and not let you go until you buy something. Many have said they'll sit with them 15 minutes and walk away, but I've literally seen it go past an hour and this same friend bought a second time share when he already owned one!

If the price sounds too good to be true, then it probably is.

In my time I have had three different Time Shares and have always been pleased with them, this is because in each case I answered an advertisement in the British press which clearly said the ads were Time Share sales.

The ads which you quote do indeed sound like some kind of incentive to get you and your family to the particular resort so that they can do their very best to sell you a Time Share. There would be a very (very) hard sell attempt to get you to buy.

Even if you resisted the sales approach, you would probably find that your cost would not cover very much at the resort; there would be a lot of extras which on most (normal) holidays would be included.

My advice is to go to a local Travel Agent and see what holidays are available, making it quite clear that you do not want anything connected with Time Share as you would be shortly leaving the country, and it would be fruitless anyone trying to sell you one.

Once went to one of these in Bangkok. I really enjoyed winding the guy up with his sales (very OTT) pitch. But they are very hard sell. In the end I just told him I was Undischarged Bankrupt, that seemed to work he soon shut up selling.

Its not worth the hassle of all that Time Share con.

Hope you do get to those places, me I always went to the West Coast in years gone by. I Enjoyed both Disneyland & Universal Studios.
