I have a Euming S940 projector.
I've recently purchased a cinemascope version
of Empire Strikes Back. I'm on a limited budget
so firstly what type of lens would be suitable
for both the projector and in a not too expensive price range.
Thanks Garry.

The anamorphic lense will not repleace the lens that is on your projector but you have to put it im front of it. It means that you need an amorphic lens and a holder (there are different types). Be aware that you may have to reajust the picture after each reel, so, again, think twice before cutting your featute down.

Just about any anamorphic lens will do but be aware that the larger the aperture the better they tend to work with Super 8. Even the best 'Scope lenses can cause vignetting around the frame edges. Best lens is probably a Kowa 8Z but expect to pay around £100 for one of those. As I said, just about any 'Scope lens will do.

When I first started out with 'Scope many years ago I made a holder for the lens and just blu-tacked it into place. It works and then you can decide if you want to do a better job and find better solutions later on.
