Sort of good news. But if it will be shown digitally most of the benefit will be lost.

As we all know no more 35mm prints will be available after January 1st, 2014. Its a sad realty, but only makes the prints we currently have more special.

No, I don't know that there will be no 35 mm from the the beginning of 2014. Are you talking for the US ? Even there, there are still 10 % of the cinemas who are not digitallized. Will they only be able to show old films ? And what about the countries like in Eastern Europe where 50 % of the cinemas (but I don't know how many cinemas they have) are still using 35 mm ?

I could be wrong but from what I have heard, all theaters in the USA have to switch to digital by the end of the year in order to continue to get new content. Worldwide may be a different story. I don't really know...

To help put things in perspective. About a month ago I saw World War Z in Burbank on a digital projector. WWZ was shot with the Arri Alexa digital camera supposedly a fine camera to compete with film. The image appeared fine. However, one week later in the same theater assuming the same projector I saw the new Star Trek film. The difference was phonominal. There was so much more clarity in the Star Trek image. You could even see the pours on the faces of the actors it was so clear. The film image is so much better.
