Just saw the book thief in the cinema. My mom arranged that i can have a look in theprojector room again. The last time i saw the projector room in this cinema qas about 12 years ago and i remember big black things with film going everywhere. I qander what it looks now.

Just been at the projector room. One digital projector with a very big computer. The projector wasnt much higher then myself (1,70m) and they even have one old projwctor for the memories. Its an old grey carbon arc projector.

Robin,

Projection booths were a lot more exciting when you could see reels or platters turning and watch the film making its way to & from the gate. Not quite the same thrill now.

True,

There's an IMAX theater near me that has a 70mm platter system. There is a full glass wall out onto the lobby so you can watch the projectionist at work.

Once they go digital the may as well wall that in.

Nothing to see here!

My local cineplex in the mall found a unique way to use an actual reel of film. I can't tell what movie it is, but it's a color print. It's now a table out in front of the theater! -

I just found it inspiring to see what iot looks now compared to what I remember from some time ago. I googled on carbon arc projector and I think this one is the projector they have.
