The seller says it is a Sony (just because he found a Sony sticker), but from the back of machine it shows that this is an MWA machine:

MWA is a German company and is still operating to date making a telecine machine (flashscan):

One unit is marked "17.5/35mm". The other is marked "16mm".
So are these for film transfer to some form of video output?

The .pdf shows it to be a Recorder/player for MAGNETIC film (all formats, which would include Fullcoat, Multitrack etc) and Player for Optical tracks with standard and red readers.
