Was a bit too bright in Norway at 20:00. Started to get slightly better at 22:30 or so. Barbeque and film was quite successful, even with the light problem. We had to move the screen to inside my garage. People were happy I think and wanted another show later on. We saw Steve Martin in my 16mm print of The Man With Two Brains.

Nice, Vidar!
I'm a big fan of Drive-In movies, so I'm always thinking about having a film show on the patio.
There's a lot to be said for it: for example the patio is as big as the entire first floor of our house, yet without furniture and walls.
-all the room I could ever need! If I do a show in the usual place, there's no way I could get much beyond about 10 people..
Downside: mosquitoes, rain and as you've shown, late summer sunshine. (You do realize you are right up against the summer solstice, right?)
The last time I tried I got about 200 feet into a 600 foot reel before we had to abandon ship (nothing says "trouble" like a white hot projection lamp being rained on...)
