This might appeal to Forum members within reach of South London. The David Lean Cinema in Croydon (now a non-profit Community Interest Company venue) will present a Halloween double bill on Friday 30 October. THE DEVIL RIDES OUT will be shown at 9pm as a tribute to Sir Christopher Lee. This will be a digital screening but a special bonus will be a compilation of six Christopher Lee trailers screened on 16mm from my own 'vaults'. Tickets are £7.50 (£6 concessions) and can be booked via: www.ticketsource.co.uk/davidleancroydon

You don't have to book for both films but anyone doing so at the same time will save £2. The first, at 6.45pm, will be the stylish 2014 film A GIRL WALKS HOME ALONE AT NIGHT, described as “The first Iranian vampire Western” in view of its Iranian setting and American-Iranian director!

It's a small friendly cinema largely staffed by volunteers and the bar prices are very reasonable!

Hadn't heard of that place, Adrian, shall keep a look out.
Went to a showing of the Lillian Gish 1928 film 'The Wind' at St John's church, Nottihg Hill on 24th October.
It was a digital presentation, and though the copy was disappointing, the organ accompaniment by Donald Mackenzie, resident organist at the Odeon, Leicester Square was very good. He took three curtain calls!
A nice experience, though those wooden benches were pretty hard, even with the cushions supplied!
