Can someone please tell me who General Yak is?
Posted by Paul Suchy (Member # 80) on January 09, 2016, 07:56 PM:
General Yak was a respected military officer from Tibet; he was known for his conversational skills which distinguished him from the rest of the herd.

Ah, yes, I thought his name sounded familiar. Was he the brother of General Tsao, famous for the chicken dish named after him?
Posted by Paul Suchy (Member # 80) on January 11, 2016, 07:02 AM:
Either brothers or cousins, I can't remember. We honor General Yak here, but not Tso. Why not so? Because sharing recipes belongs on another forum.

Was General Tso's Chicken a rival to Colonel Sanders by any chance?
Posted by Paul Suchy (Member # 80) on January 11, 2016, 07:21 AM:
Exactly; and General Yak's rival was General E. Speaking.

A general "yak" is when you cough up an un-intendedly swallowed bone while eating!
(always great at parties with the whole family gathered, and especially fun when you're on a date!)

He's a friend of Captain slog

Right; also a friend of Captain Von Trapp:
Tso, a needle pulling thread. La, a note to follow Tso. Tea, a drink with jam and bread-
...and that brings us to The Bitter Tea of General Yen (1933)
Look for "General Yen" on the Worldwide Currency Forum.

If so, then what I understand, in the US Army for hundred thousands soldiers there are only 2 Generals. I forgot their names, but one general's responsibility is for handling automotive and transportation issues and the other one is for electricity.

General Yak has such a wide ranging family History in the armed forces, in fact, he has a Grandson he is quite proud of, just coming up in the ranks ...
Yes, you guessed it ...
"Corporal Punishment" ( a very tough soldger!)

Winbert: General Electric is alive and well, General Motors is no longer the commander he used to be...
Osi mentions General Yak's grandson and I'm sure he's okay; I've been spanked a few times on this forum (but not too severely).

General Film Distributors was demobbed many years ago! I think he may have been replaced by someone with a "gong" !! ken Finch.
