OK, it has nothing to do with film, but here is my personal pick for Roy Orbisons best rendition of this old classic of his. this was actually a demo in progress, (and you can hear a slight drum mistake in the third verse), but it has awesome raw quality to it that is just great!

Enjoy!

Thanks for the link Osi! The big O was an incredible talent and I too love this recording. It comes across with more earthy rockabilly than the well known official recording.

There's a lot to love in this recording. As you mentioned, the "raw" feel of it. That solid bass hit, which almost sounds lifted up in the mix, giving it a solid pounding, and then, that awesome transition for the third verse, that lovely "twang" of the guitar.

Yes, Orbison, truly one of the greats. Unlike some singers throughout the years, he had that awesome range in his vocals to his dying day. I still think his first version of "I Drove all night" is far better than the remakes that followed.

This the stereo version, (most videos have the mono version on the original version), this sounds MUCH better!!

... and, of course, the classic ...

RRRRRRRRARRRR!!!!

... and recorded a mere two days before his death, of a heart attack. You were taken to soon, Roy!!

At a time when many, if not all, performances on TV were lip-synched Roy always played live. If you ever saw him with just his guitar and a small amp performing "Running Scared" there left no doubt his real talent.

Here's a curiosity, however ...

Roy, not live, but lip syching to his own song, of course, but an early "music video" for "Pretty Woman" ...
