I was tossing out some old standard 8mm 50ft reels last weekend and decided to have a look at one of them on my Wolverine gadget.Herewith a 52 year-old frame showing my daughter at a very early age.Not bad at all,I reckon.Bring back Kodachrome! ;-)Trev

Trev, incredible quality for a single frame of standard 8mm! Shows just how wonderful standard 8mm Kodachrome really was.

That's a very cute photo. I'm happy to say I also have my kids on a lot of Kodachrome, and the color is still all there [Smile]

Thanks chaps.I've been through all my old home movies,8mm and super 8mm. "Wolverined" everything onto SD cards. Very convenient but honestly,I prefer looking at the old film! The NZ market is really not inclined to indulge one's interest in old technology.Hard enough to find 35mm still film let alone super 8mm....Might be best to look in Australia.Even in the 'golden years' NZers had to send their Kodachrome 8mm to OZ for processing.

I'm always, endlessly fascinated when I see old Kodachrome standard 8mm from the 1930's (Trivia, Kodachrome was first introduced in 1936 for standard 8mm).

It's just seeing everyday life in America in 1930's that does it for me. The very last bits of the old west could still be actively seen in day to day life, even in the 30's (espcially in old footage shot in the western states), and clothing ect ect showed faint traces of the past ...

... which, after World War 2, was gone.
