Microsoft Edge is a web browser that comes with Windows 10 as standard.
I am not computer literate, so am asking a question to those who are.
I have recently bought a new Garmin sat nav which comes with free updates for its maps. Before using, it was suggested that it be undated via my computer.
However, the Garmin will not acknowledge Windows Edge and suggests that that I use Internet Explorer.
I see I can download Internet Explorer.
My question is, will such a download "take over" Windows Edge" as my computer's web browser?

Normally if anything like that is going to happen you get a click box asking if you want the browser you are using to become your default browser. Just click "No" if this occurs.

Windows Explorer is no longer supported, and has not been for over a year. I suggest you contact Garmin support about this. Downloading an obsolete browser has the potential to create a security breach on you computer.
