Since a couple of days, FORUM is very slow...........
Same story from different ADSL link : around 5 to 10 sec between 2 pages.
Firewall or not, no change.
Posted by Dominique De Bast (Member # 3798) on July 20, 2017, 07:24 AM:
Since I'm abroad, I connect with my telephone and noticed the same.
Posted by Stuart Reid (Member # 1460) on July 20, 2017, 07:30 AM:
Same here in UK.
Posted by Joe Taffis (Member # 4) on July 20, 2017, 08:33 AM:
and here in Pennsylvania too...
Posted by Mathew James (Member # 4581) on July 20, 2017, 08:43 AM:
It has been the same here as well.
At first I thought it was a DNS server issue, but my new thought is that the server this forum is house on needs a reboot.
This happens to my own forum i run from time to time rarely, and i always get them to reboot and the DB works again.
Regardless, it is annoying
Hope it is fixed soon!

Hello,
Forum is slowing down again from my side......
10 sec (sometimes more) from page to page
Posted by Janice Glesser (Member # 2758) on July 26, 2017, 02:02 AM:
Slow for me too...about 23 seconds response time after clicking a link.
Posted by Brian Fretwell (Member # 4302) on July 26, 2017, 02:44 AM:
Same here again in the UK.
Posted by Stuart Reid (Member # 1460) on July 26, 2017, 05:15 AM:

Posted by Steve Meyer (Member # 5197) on July 26, 2017, 10:49 AM:
Forum is slow ......
25 seconds or even longer sometimes.
Posted by Panayotis A. Carayannis (Member # 1220) on July 26, 2017, 02:54 PM:
...and here too...
Posted by Steve Klare (Member # 12) on July 26, 2017, 03:08 PM:
It's very spotty: normal and then slow in the same session.
Honestly, the Internet has provided me a lot of enjoyment these last almost 20 years, but I'm a lot more comfortable when I can unscrew a plate and find gears or printed circuit boards inside the stuff I use.
When knowledgeable people at work get into the workings of the 'net, I think they're just making it all up!
-let 'em laugh! At least if my car dies I usually don't need to call for a tow truck!
A good friend of mine who is very software oriented got a new van. We were out for a ride and I asked "V6 or V8?". He shrugged: "I dunno!". (Different sensibilities, I guess.)
Posted by Brad Kimball (Member # 5) on July 26, 2017, 08:45 PM:
23 seconds to go from one screen to the next here in The Hudson Valley.
Posted by Clinton Hunt (Member # 2072) on July 26, 2017, 11:24 PM:
Same here in New Zealand, sometimes very slow and fine other times.I'm sure it will come right so I'm not worried :-)
Posted by Maurice Leakey (Member # 916) on July 27, 2017, 02:38 AM:
This situation is getting quite ridiculous. What is the cause, and when will all be up and running again?
Posted by Phil Murat (Member # 5148) on July 27, 2017, 05:05 AM:
The good news it's just the necessary time to get a beer between 2 clics................
The bad news, I am not in position to "clic" anymore now....
Posted by Tom Photiou (Member # 130) on July 27, 2017, 06:44 AM:

Very Saturday Night live style. Backing to coring my soap and lifting my insoles in my trainers will give the dirty diapers a miss.

Any feedback what happened? Have a nice weekend!

Nine days and this forum is still
so slow I've become a Senior Citizen twice over!!
What is the problem and who is dealing with it?
Posted by Greg Perry (Member # 5177) on July 29, 2017, 05:33 PM:
All of our concerns about the site's massive slow-down does at least underscore the value and enjoyment that we all get from this forum----when it isn't working like we are used to, it definitely is frustrating....
The fact that it is free to all of us is certainly greatly appreciated. Hopefully, Doug/Brad and tech team are able to get things back to normal soon.
Posted by Brian Fretwell (Member # 4302) on July 31, 2017, 05:01 AM:
It's strange today almost alternately very fast and then very slow. I hope this means the problem is being worked on.
Posted by Lindsay Morris (Member # 3812) on July 31, 2017, 09:54 PM:
Now it appears to be stable...a VAST improvement over the past few days when it would take forever to even load the first page. Then when you went to select a particular forum page it would simply stop & no amount of waiting would see the page I had clicked on appear.
So am very pleasantly surprised today so thanks to whomever has sorted out what ailed the site...WELL DONE

..we're getting there!!!
I can post again
Thanx for rebooting the Database!

IT'S ALIVE!!!!
Although I find it very strange that we members did not get any feedback from the admins or developers in this thread. But they're forgiven.
Happy posting!
Cheers

Yes, when you've developed enough patience to deal with the way it was it's almost too fast!
-you click the link, start to stand up and go get a beer, and it's there already!
