While i will apparantly get it, I didn't read down further enough to read that the seller has up to 10 days from day of payment to ship the film.

Well, it's a good thing that I didn't need it overnight!

The seller stated that they do ebay as well as another business and so they mail thjings off based on when and in what order, payments come in. Well, at least that part makes sense, but a 10 day buffer?

I wonder if ebay has any requirement that a seller needs to ship within a specific amount of time, as ten days certainly seems quite excessive. i have another person I just bought from in Argentina and after the auction, not only did the shipping go up from 8 dollars to 26 dollars, (I'll be looking at how much the shipping stamp says when it arrives and what the difference is in argentine dollars and U.S. dollars, it better danged well NOT be 8.00 dollars spent on shipping!), but that this person has a 5 day time wait in order to ship. The funny thing is that this seller stated that the package was ready to mail right away and was wondering where the payment is, (as it was won on Sunday and I couldn't pay until monday).

Osi - The sudden jump from 8 to 26 dollars may just be Ebay imposing their own postage charge if the seller uses Ebays overseas postage service where they just send it to the Ebay post office in their country and Ebay forward it on to the buyer.
It is not necessarily the sellers fault. I have had overseas buyers ask me why my low postage has suddenly shot up. It's not me... it's Ebay.

Melvin ... you had a very good point on that overseas seller, that might well be the case.

As many have found in they're own purchases, using that ebay shipping charge thing really does cause more anger and frustration than good.

After all, many people purchase things partly on the "revealed" shipping for the package. I always look at that first thing when buying something from overseas.

I bought a print from maryann two months ago and the same thing happened to me. I didn't read the fine print and was a little suprised there was a long time for handling. I thought ten days was excessive but it was stated upfront.

We don't have eBay post offices or Global Shipping places here in New Zealand so we just go to the Post Office and send it the usual way directly to the overseas person.
I've seen for example Global Shipping only option and it makes the goods way too expensive all up!
I might be simplifying it but that's what I see [Smile]

Global Shipping is the only way I would have bought a feature from the US. $23 Ebay Global Shipping, or $80 by USPS.

80.00 by USPS? Good heavens! What were they shipping by? What did they use? If it was a day or two shipping, that i could see being so expensive, but usually to ship over to the U.K. would be around 30 or so dollars U.S. and that will take about a week and a half, that is, for a full feature.

Perhaps someone was really "jacking" you on the shipping? [Frown]

One time I sent a full 1200' metal reel 16mm to the U.K. and the cheapest shipping was like $70.
