Is there anyone out there who collects PAL dvds? (American DVDs are NTSC format; most other countries use the PAL format, which has superior visual quality.) I have hundreds of these DVDs collected over the years, most of them not available here in NTSC. I'd like to sell them to someone who'd provide them a good home, but I don't even know if there's anyone on this site who'd be interested. If so, please contact me and maybe we can work something out. THANK YOU!

I am still wondering what is the benefit of NTSC vs PAL in this digital world? Doesn't digital file recognize this color system?

The difference on DVD is that so called "PAL" disks store the pictures as 625 line 50 fields/sec and so called "NTSC" at 525 line 60 fields/sec. It is only the player that would generate PAL or NTSC from composite video outputs, but who would use those nowadays? It would mainly be digital out and often up scaled anyway.

Our dvd players play both pal and ntsc as im sure many others do. My brother loves his old westerns so when he visits the united states, as he does every year, he usually brings back a small piles of ntsc dvds.they cost him next to nothing and they are generally not availible to buy in the UK
