Right, I've taken the plunge and ordered a big bottle of Filmguard after recommendations from you guys. I need a good lint free cloth or better still a pack of cloths. Can anyone put me on to a source? Thanks.

Hi Colin,
I use Selvyt cloths, available on Amazon.
These used to be cutting room standard issue.

Anything 100% cotton won't scratch. So you could easily do this by cutting up old T-shirts. The drawback is that cotton can leave lint, although I rarely end up with problems from that if I do my job carefully.

100% cotton handkerchiefs washed a couple of times to remove any starch.

Then change the cleaning position quite regularly.

Some degree of deposit or staining from the sound stripes isn't anything to worry about.

I usually apply a very fine amount of Filmguard and then do a dry run too to remove excess.

It's very easy to apply too much and it is still effective with very minimal application.

I used to use very old and soft vests, but now I buy lint free cloth from Ebay, and cut it up into approx 2"x 2" squares.
