Terry. I have only used it as a buyer. To get a 16mm feature here from the us was only £36 and included whatever taxes i had to pay.
A workmate of mine sell car parts and he seems to support it. You simply post the article to the Gsp Address and they do all the rest. It sounds good but i have to be honest and say i have yet to give it a go as a seller [Wink]

I have used this to purchase items from across the pond and it was hassle free and faster than the normal route through customs. I don't know how they got around customs control which has strangle hold on everything they can tax, but they have, not sure how they calculate the amount but it worked well for me Terry.

Terry - I use it as an Ebay seller. Basically, you list the item, together with the UK postage price that you want to charge. As long as your account allows bids from overseas, your overseas bidder makes their bid and, if successful, is charged via Ebay for both the item selling price and a postage price (extortionate in my opinion)to get it to them.
All you do is to receive the price of the goods and the original postage charge you asked for (less their cut,of course).
You then post it to an Ebay address in Lichfield and they do the rest. They will notify you when it has left them and when it has reached its destination.
The only pitfalls with the system is that I have had overseas bidders who have had a heart attack (not literally)when they receive the extra Ebay charge for postage and have asked to back out (understandably) from the deal.
The other pitfall is that if they make a multi purchase, each item is charged postage separately and it can't be combined.

My criticism is that when I bought from the US the total price was only shown once I had clicked to buy. This was somewhat different from the costs shown before.
Other than that, it all worked satisfactorily.

Many Thanks for your answers. I am sending a valuable projector by this means and I was a bit anxious about doing it, but it sounds like it is a trusted and recommended service.
What I found strange is that eBay does not inform users of the whereabouts of the buyer, although I was able to find out by messaging him.

I find I am more inclined to bid on auctions that offer the Global Shipping Program. I have paid ( in the hundreds of dollars in a couple of instances ) extra in Tax, Duty, Import fees and handling charges to bring prints in from the UK and US.
as a buyer, The GSP fee is much lower and the shipping and Customs clearance is handled in a timely fashion.

you advertise a film on ebay with postage 15.00 a guy abroad buys it you get the 15.00 and post it to their depot as mentioned on here then they send it to him with a wacking high postage charge keep away from this

I’ve only had one film shipped using Global Shipping,
and just like others here I had to pay more than shown because I was also charged postage from the seller to send it to the depot,that took me by surprise and it made the film almost not worth it.
