I am proud of the seller making such a great sale, but this is another case of rediculous prices for merchendise.

I mean, it's just the last 45 or so minutes of the film!

Osi. The majority of more local collectors near me don't buy features anymore so its fair to say most just let the rest get on with it. I have to agree what you say with a film not being complete but I feel it reflects how short supply good used films are now for regular circulation.

Once again I draw attention to the brand new prints which are coming thru and the perfect example is Indiana Jones Lost Ark at 600ft Stereo. It will surely kill off the high price sales for the old 80's 400ft which will be what around 35 years old.

I would think so as, while that classic 400ft marketing print was really good, 30 minutes would do a better service to all the action. I hope that it will be in scope or at least, letterboxed. With the incredible level of quality that we have seen in modern super 8 film stock, (some of which literally has no grain or, at least, you really have to look hard to detect it), it could well look great!

I always though that back in the day when I collected 8mm - 600" was a wonderful length..30 - 34 minutes where a good story-line could unfold and nothing really rushed in the hands of a good editor.

I think of the best 2 x 400 (fit on a 600) ever released in my opinion Universal 8's "The Sting".

I also thought that nice 600" edits of all the old Universal Horrors would have been fantastic at that length too..no padding.

Incidentally, it will be interesting to see if the sales get into double figures on the Indiana "600"...release...not to be a pessimist but cost..demand and people actually putting their money where their demands was ..always was a problem in 8mm...especially later on as I know Derek Simmonds told me himself and also Phil had to spend loads of his own money with few takers.

Anyway I hope your release comes through..but like you Osi..its the first I've heard.

These days, it seems that a release on super 8 has to have at least 30 or more sales, just to make it worthwhile. it's not that there are not a number of releases that CAN be done, it's as to whether those in the hobby will actually support them ...
