ROCHESTER, N.Y. (AP) — Kodak says a new beer hitting the market can be used to develop its Super 8 movie film.
Dogfish Head Craft Brewery in Delaware created its SuperEIGHT beer after a conversation with people at Kodak, the upstate New York technology company most famous for its photographic roots.
Dogfish learned from Kodak that heightened levels of acidity and vitamin C in certain beers could make them a processing agent for film. That inspired the brewery to design such a beer. Kodak helped by testing it.
Dogfish founder Sam Calagione says he’ll document his summer travels on Super 8 film that will be developed in SuperEIGHT beer and turned into a short film.
The beer, made with pear, mango, berries, kiwi, quinoa and salt, is set for national distribution next month.

Ok in 30 years any bottles of this "SPecial beer" will look pink and have faded in time like anything else they have made......

If this refers specifically to b&w negative films it would not be a new discovery. Many have been using beer and/or coffee to develop b&w as a negative for some time. Now if it were to yield a positive image, or work with color, that would be amazing!

On a similar note back where I used to live at a summer bike shop I saw the mechanics putting Coca-Cola on the rear gears of bicycles for lubrication so imagine what soda does to your stomach not to mention your teeth ......
I also thought Leon's reply was very funny. Thank you Leon because I needed a good laugh.....

Coca cola may work on bike gears, but don't use it on the finish of your car.

I hear Coco Cola is great for cleaning brass coins and gold jewelry. I wouldn't try cleaing films with it though.
