Graham, it seems that the third picture of your first serie has not been loaded.

Posted by Graham Sinden (Member # 431) on November 18, 2019, 06:50 AM:

Yes I noticed that Dom but all the pictures are there that I wanted so I think its just repeated text I will delete or sort. I would add this isn't the easiest forum to post pictures and if there is a problem going back on the browser deleates everything and have to re-post.

I don't remember that Beaulieu. Maybe it was sold quickly or I was distracted.

It is shorty he was there.

I know!

-he said as much when we were at CineSea a couple of weeks back.

(We'll need him back before Springtime, of course!)

Shorty was pushing for us from the UK to go to Cinesea. He provided a film for the Saturday daytime shows, which I later bought from the Bring and Buy.
It was good to see him again.
I'll upload some of my photos tomorrow.

That sounds like him:

-Ten years ago Shorty was pushing for us from the US to go to CineSea.

(Turns out he was right!)

Allow me to give my unending love and respect to our colleagues, friends and dear mates overseas who always make me so-welcome - Simon, Nigel, Uncle Bob, Lee, Melvin and everyone - Drinks and Cheers all-around - Yes, I'm continually asking you to attend our show and for the others here to bask in the wonderful glow that is Blackpool - Special thanks and love to Elaine Guest, who not only held firm the reigns of the show, as we always remember David's memory, making us all so proud and for bestowing an honorary membership on me - I extend my best wishes and love to all - Stay well, in-touch and again, if there is anything I can do for anyone, don't hesitate - What a grand time it is always is, so much to learn and discover all through the courtesy and kindness of you dear people - Cheers and Blessings, Shorty

Joe. it is a great pleasure having you here.you are such a friendly person. i have nothing but respect for yourself and all those who travel from afar to join us. we are all there to be around like minded people and have such a fun weekend. which indeed we do. it will happen all again next year(date to be confirmed). it is the support of helpers, collectors, and dealers that keep it going. long may it continue.

I would be remiss if I didn't thank Adrian Winchester and David Watson for keeping it all together and making sure we're in line, LOL - Listening to these two gentlemen speak on topics and all is indeed worth the pleasure of their companies - Certainly planning towards the next one - Cheers all, Shorty

It's Oliver, a forum member 😀

 -

This is not the first picture I took since it was displayed on the Sunday but it's the first I wanted to post as the Friday night projection which started the event was preceeded by a thougt for David Guest. Of course I haven't known David as well and as long as others have but enough to appreciate him. I first started to get in relation with him as a customer and I have always been satisfayied with what he sold me. He sent me some pictures of organs which seemed to be one of his other interests. When I told David I intented to come to Blackpool, he kindly sent me his phone number and offered to come to pick me up at the station (which of course I declined since I knew he would be very busy with the organization of the convention). Although he had many things to manage, David Always took time to talk to me (and to others). It has been a great sadness when he annouced his illness. The fact that he decided, knowing he was at the end of his days, to keep on with the Blackoopl convention and spend his precious time with and for us tells something about the man. I cannot thanks enough those who made possible the continuation of the event that matters so much for David. I know it's a lot of work ; the North French Cine Fair of Roubaix didn't survive the death of the organizator, which is a shame. From where he is, I'm sure David Guest is happy to see that the 2019 edition of the Blackpool convetion was a complete success.

 -

The Friday night show was a 16 mm one. Shorty is admiring the Siemens projector that belongs to Nigel (the man with the hat).

 -

The lightning and the sound were improved and much appreciated by the audience.

 -

Nigel found those extenders that fit all the Siemens models but are rare since they were expensive when new.

 -

Audience is arriving, Eldorado with John Wayne and Robert Mitchum will be screened soon.

 -

I finally met (forum member) Oliver (from Germany) I heard so much about from (Belgian) forum member Bruno. Very nice friendly guy.

I was very happy to see you again, David. I will of course post your pictures with great pleasure.

 -

I didn't want to miss a minute of this show, neither.

 -

Jim used a 16mm projector and Nigel a super 8 one.

 -

Some of the films showed. As one can guess, since the projection lasts for several hours, a large variety of subjects were shown.

 -

Guess who let that on the table [Big Grin]

Thanks for the name reminder, Dominique, I'm blaming my age for forgetting. Here are some pictures of the main event.

Plenty of 16mm.
 -
And plenty of attendees.

 -
Considering we were at the Grand Hotel I thought this would have sold early on.
 -
Bob gets ready for a film show with his Elmo GS1200 Xenon.

And by the way the reason for the missing picture in the first post is that the link is not complete Hopefully this will show it

 -
So it was a repeat of part of the link, not a new picture.

Impossible (for me, at least) to remember all the titles but among others : Santa's Pocket Watch, a Wallace & Gromit cartoon, a Little Rascals short, The Red Balloon, Pathe newsreels, musicals…

To avoid posting pictures too looking the same than those already shared by other members, I will go straight to the Sunday.

The queue. I was the first one [Big Grin]

An opportunity to have a chat with three of the Scadanavian visitors (from left to right on the picture). I'm sorry I don't remember their names (if someone can enlight us…).

In another room, "uncle" Bob enjoyed us with no less than two super 8 projections. The last film screened was a digest with excellent colours of the british film Genevieve.

From left to right : Melvin (if I'm not mistaking), Shorty, Nigel, David and Jim.

That's all for this year. By the way, if anyone wants to use one of my photos (or more), feel free to do so and don't hesitate to ask me to send you the original sized one(s) by e-mail as you may loose quality by downloading directly from the site.

Yes he did for about 5 minutes before Bob's last film show. We was also informed of a DVD about Bill will be released sometime next year.

Shorty, I had an email from Keith saying his wife had suffered a very bad fall (Mrs Wilton has severe arthritis) so he couldn't attend this year. Keith suggested he may not go next time either which would be a shame given all he has done to further the hobby.
