Asking for a friend, so I don't have first hand info - looking for a replacement lamp for a Pathescope 9.5 projector, Model H. Can anyone help me identify this lamp? Thanks.

As usual in the 1930’s when these machines were made all manner of voltages were used, so the H projector used a 80 volt lamp which was 100 watt which now are unavailable. Over the years most users I know have converted to a more modern type lamp 12 volt 100 watt QI and install a transformer from an old Eumig P8 projector or something similar. If you hunt around hard enough you may turn up one of the old lamps but its much better to upgrade the lamp for a brighter whiter picture on screen.

Thanks, Lee. This is in the US, wired for 110v. I believe that if I actually get my hands on the projector I will be able to figure it out. In England, are bulbs categorized with a three letter code such as DEK or ABC?

Hi Tom. The lamp that most seem to favour is the A1/215 Osram to convert although I've used the A1/234 150 watt 15 volt which lets you hang onto the projectors internal mirror. I'm on with converting one of the 9.5 sound machines myself which is a bit more involved as I am upgrading the sound side as well but it certainly is fun to potter about with.
