Has anyone got one of these? I have just acquired one in very good condition but no power when I switch on the motor. There are separate switches for motor and lamp which are a bit peculiar, in that it seems you have to push them in to operate up or down (on or off).
There is also a switch on the front under the lens that I have no idea about, and als a black knurled plastic knob on the back which I think may be a fuse holder, but I can't seem to undo it to check. It is set for 240v.
Don't suppose anyone has an instruction manual?
UPDATE-
After dismantling it to see what's going on, I find that the two stage knob under the lens is for centralising and adjusting the lamp up and down or from side to side.
The black plastic knob at the rear is in fact a fuse holder. Fuse is ok but no power still. I'm guessing that without power to the motor the lamp will not light up anyway. Usual practice with projectors as without fan the lamp would overheat.

Terry, I'm in South America at the moment and have not an easy access to the net through my mobile, I connect from time to time from a "normal computer" but it is limited, too. I have no Pathe Europe 9.5 but when I saw your message I remembered a 9.5 projector (but which one ?) that has a knob on the rear that has to be pressed to make the other knobs work. It seems, from your search that the knob you saw has not this function. So the only thing I can advise you now is to contact Antoine from this forum, as he posted a video on youtube (I couldn't hear the sound) about the Pathe Europe https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jJX_Yh-bcpY

Thanks for the reply Dom. Unfortunately your link does not work but I have found a demo of the Pathe Eurpoe on YouTube. Perhaps it's the same one?
What is Antoines surname so that I can contact him on the Forum?
Hope you're having a fabulous time in South America. I've always wanted to go and see it. Whereabouts in South America?

Terry, Antoine uses his real name, Antoine Orsero, both on youtube and on this forum. The youtube's title of his video is "PATHE EUROP 9,5mm SILENT". I came back in Paraguay where I came for the Easter holidays, I also went to Brasil and Argentine. Live in South America is cheap and there is so much to see. I hope later to visit other countries but I have to limit my stays as my mum is suffering from Alzheimer so three weeks away is a big maximum at a time although I have two months holidays. I will go back to Belgium for a week, then go to the Middle East. Hope you will find a way to run your projector.

Hi,
I said to Terry as PM. The button at the bottom of the lens is used to focus the light so that it illuminates the best possible projection window! The button on the rear panel is to adjust the volts.
As you can see on my video in Youtube, I replaced the original lamp by a 12v 100w dichroic lamp and placed inside the projector an electronic transformer of: input 220v, 12v 100w output. This amendment allows a brighter projection!

I gave up trying to get this projector to work so listed it on eBay for spares or repair. Can't believe the interest it has received. Must be very desirable or rare.

It is actually a good machine. It's a shame you couldn't make it work.

Dom
I agree but I couldn't find a good engineer to take it on for repair. I even tried Kevin Brown but he is reluctant to take on 9.5 'ers even though I tried to explain that it is a fairly modern machine. Very nice talking to him though. A very knowledgeable and helpful guy.

I hope that the new owner will be able to do Something. This projector is probably better known from French reparators but they are not cheap so you probably took a good decision by re-selling your Pathé Europe.

This projector has no electronic so easier to repair. I don't think that the problem is as bad as that! If the engine turns not be the carbon brushes are worn and easily replaceable either there is an electrical connection to review and it is - also easily fixable

Yes a great shame not to be able to find a decent repair engineer, but it is sold now and it fetched a very good price considering it's not working. I hope the buyer has more luck than me - and yes - it went to France unsurprisingly.
