Does anyone have specific information about the 9.5 event in Harpenden on October 15th? If anyone does, it would be good to add it to the the Upcoming Conventions thread.
The show also includes 8 and 16mm, and I believe the entry charge is £5.

Martin, All the film shows during the day are from 9.5mm. Either projected 9.5mm from a Buckingham projector or 9.5mm amateur films on DVD. There is however lots of 8mm and 16mm (plus 9.5mm of course) on sale though.

I have added the show to the Upcoming Film Conventions & Events thread using information from previous postings. If any of the details require changes please let me know.

Yes, thanks for the clarification, Graham. The show is exclusively 9.5, but for sale/trade items include 8 and 16, I believe.

Could any British member of the Group 9.5 ask Graham Murray if he could bring dvds he asked for copy (if I understood well but anyway he should know what it is about :-) to the French Club ? I was asked by the President of the Ciné Club de France if I could bring them back from Britain and take them with me at the next meeting in Paris. Thanks.

Here are some pictures taken at Harpenden
The programme of the day.
Tony from Buckingham Films is there as every year.
Better than EBay : you can see it in real !
Although it's an 9.5 day, all gauges are available.
You can check the film condition before buying. That's one of the advantages of conventions like this.

I started to take pictures after having searched through the tables, so some nice projectors or cine items were no longer displayed when my camera went out of my pocket.
Chris (from this forum) is looking at a projector that has been converted with a modern lamp.
Look at what you missed if you were not there ;-)
The auction table. This 9.5 Buckingham projector was sold for the bargain amount of £ 370 ! The lucky new owner is a forum member. The film displayed on the table is the only 9.5 copy that exists in the world of : "Light Out And The Stars Appears". To my great surprise, I could have it (for £ 70).
Graham (another forum member) provides us a 9.5 sound projection as usual. Sadly, a choice has been made this year to show amateur films with a digital machine instead of the Buckingham showed on the picture, as it was before. So I didn't assist to "that".

Great pictures as usual Dom. Photo number 6 is of a stall that was selling everything exclusive to 9.5. Do you know the name of that seller?

Thank you for that nice comment, Terry. Sadly, I don't know the name of the seller.

Also nice to see you there, Dominique. I also saw Keith Wilton. He said had fun (not) in trying to get the roads opened for the Ealing convention that had to be cancelled - they thought he wanted more roads CLOSED!!!
Now to try to get that Eumig 810d I bought there for £10 to run at 24fps, it's OK at 18!!!!

Not bad for £ 10 😀

Brian
Check the motor bearing mounts. Nearly always the problem with the Eumigs. They are made of some strange plastic that crumbles with age.

In reply to Terry, if it's the sixth picture, that is Chris Wilson, if the photo after that, the chap speaking to Chris, then that is Martyn Stevens. Martyn will be attending the Big Screen Time Revival this Sunday.

Thanks for the advice on the 810D. I'll check it out when I have finished some re-decorating and have time to give it a good clean and re-lubricate.
