I have a very old specto 9.5mm that doesn't have the arm to withdraw the claw. There is a hole to see through but I'm not sure what I'm looking for. Help!

I might be able to help you there Michael. I'll have a look tomorrow.

On the old black Spectos there was a plate to the left of the hole which reads:-
"PULL BACK (shows a right arrow) CLAW LINK before opening or closing gate".

I've found what I think is the little lever, but does anyone have a picture of it so that I can determine if it's the correct one?
Michael
Can you give a picture of the gate of your projector? Having looked at some old Spectos on eBay I'm pretty sure I do have it. It operates a spring wire that in turn Opens up the pressure plates which allows film loading and unloading. The only problem might be that the spring wire that the lever operates might be missing on yours. Can you see this wire when you swing the gate fully open?
