Hi, I have seen comments about 1200 ft spools that have been adapted to take 1600ft of film. Did anyone do the same for 800ft spools with a view to putting say 1200ft through an 800ft capacity machine?

Dont think so Tony. Only 1200ft size that take nearly 1600ft.

GS1200 Xenon with Elmo 1.0...great combo along with a 16-CL Xenon for that super bright white light.

The core of the 800' reel couldn't be reduced enough.I believe that's what made it possible with the 1200s(1600s).

Ah Ha! But Wait! There IS an 800 foot spool out there that probably has THE SMALLEST hub in Super 8 history. I have a print of Jason and The Argonauts and it is the Derann release and it fits snuggly on two of these babies. I stumbled upon them from a fella who offered me about 8 of them not realizing myself how wonderful they actually are. They are transparent reels with the smallest hub physically possible. Quite unique. D'Arcy [Razz]

Nice one D'Arcy. Do you think you could email me a picture next time you empty one? I wonder how difficult they would be to copy? But, are the motors in 800 machines robust enough to cope with the extra weight?
