Does anyone know how many full-length features, Derann did of the Carry On film rank library? Back in the late 70s early 80s

I assume most of them are now faded to a reddish/brown unless some re-prints where made on later LPP stocks.

Hi Robert

Carry On Girls
Carry On At Your Conveniance
Carry On Behind

That I can remember, I had the first two and the prints were very good.

Carry On Screaming, a few I think 10 or so on lpp and a few more on agfa poly, OK print considering the darkish goings on.
Best Mark.
Late 80`s/90 odd.

Collectors club brought out a B/W print of "Carry on Doctor" as a 4x400', I've even sold an Optical colour print of this in the past. PM Films brought out an excellent 600' of "Carry on Up The Khyber" as well.

Derann also released 4 x 400ft versions of CARRY ON ABROAD,CARRY ON CAMPING & CARRY ON UP THE JUNGLE.

They also released a nice 400ft cut down of CARRY ON MATRON too.

Powell films also released CARRY ON DONT LOSE YOUR HEAD and DCR films released a full length print of CARRY ON CRUISING.

I just love these carry on movies, they are like a vintage wine and improve with age every year!!

Several years ago, I provided the following list of Carry On films on Super 8 for the memorabilia section of a Carry On website. Looks like I missed Carry on Cruising, though, which must be very rare. All the full length Derann releases were from around 1983 onwards, so I expect most prints are low fade.

CARRY ON ABROAD 4 x 400' + two different 1 x 400' ("extracts 1 & 2") releases
CARRY ON AGAIN DOCTOR 3 x 600' full length
CARRY ON AT YOUR CONVENIENCE 3 x 600' full length
CARRY ON BEHIND 3 x 600' full length
CARRY ON CAMPING 4 x 400' + two different 1 x 400' ("extracts 1 & 2") releases
CARRY ON CLEO 4 x 400' + 1 x 400'
CARRY ON DON'T LOSE YOUR HEAD 4 x 400' + 1 x 400'
CARRY ON EMMANUELLE 2 x 400' + 50' theatrical trailer
CARRY ON GIRLS 3 x 600' full length
CARRY ON LOVING 3 x 600' full length
CARRY ON MATRON 1 x 400'
CARRY ON SARGENT 3 x 600' full length
CARRY ON SCREAMING 3 x 600' full length
CARRY ON UP THE JUNGLE 4 x 400' + 1 x 400'
CARRY ON UP THE KHYBER 3 x 600' full lenghth + 1 x 600'
THAT'S CARRY ON 4 x 600' full length + three 200' ("part 1/2/3") releases
CARRY ON TRAILER REEL 200' includes full theatrical trailer to "Carry On Regardless" plus "Carry On Teacher" teaser.

Its just a shame that many of these titles are now suffering from the dreaded fade. I do have Screaming and Camping on LPP and both are my all time Carry On Favs [Smile]

GS1200 Xenon with Elmo 1.0...great combo along with a 16-CL Xenon for that super bright white light.

'Carry On Sergeant' and 'Follow That Camel' were also released as 3 x 600' uncut prints with mag sound.

I had "Sergeant" (albeit spelt wrong) in my list above but "Follow that Camel" is a complete surprise to me. I don't recall it in any Derann catalogue or lists, so unless I'm mistaken I wonder who released it? If anyone owns or has seen a copy, I'd also be interested to know whether it's a good print.

I have "Carry On Cleo" from Walton Film on 4x400' (F.729.) The colour stock is Fuji and is still very good.

Hello Adrian, apologies I must have overlooked 'Sergeant' in your post. I have a print of 'Follow That Camel', I bought it (new) at a Derann Open Day back in the early 90s. I don't think there were many prints struck (six rings a bell). I remember Derek Simmonds calling me before the Open Day and giving me first refusal on a print as he knew Carry On was (and is) one of my big movie passions. Having said that, I don't know if Derann acquired the prints for elsewhere or released it themselves. As mentioned it is complete on three very full 600' spools with mag sound. The print is excellent, one of the best colour prints I've ever seen (Camber Sands looks particularly lush!) with a pin sharp image and perfect sound. My print was supplied in standard plain white cardboard boxes.

The Super 8mm print of 'Carry On Cruising' came as a surprise to me, I had no idea this one existed; I thought I had the complete Carry On 8mm collection so one to track down.

Where Derek sourced some of his releases has always been a bit of a mystery.
