Cannot help you, Dino.
The silent ones were not aired, here in Italy. So I really don't know them.
Hope other members will be more helpful than me. [Wink]

Mike, thanks a lot.
Your shorts have been delivered today. And I really do appreciate you 'little' (RASCALS) present. I've never seen all of them (not all were dubbed and aired here in Italy). So it will be a double surprise.

What can I say? Thanks thanks thanks.

Ciao.

Mike, once more thanks a lot.
My collection is improving in a very quick way, thanks to you. And thanks also for the DVDs: I will have the possibility to watch GENERAL SPANKY for the first time. Absolutely something new for me.
All the best and GRAZIE ANCORA.

Gian-

Congradulations! "Birthday Blues" and "Forgotten Babies" are two of the BEST of the Little Rascals shorts. And, they are more hard-to-get than some others. ENJOY!

James.

Gian was looking through an old Film Collector's World that had a list of reviews of the different Our Gang shorts, have you seen this list before?

I will find soon the time to screen the new entries you have supplied. And I will begin tonight to watch GENERAL SPANKY.
I'm so curious about this OUR GANG full feature.

Thanks a lot for helping, Mike. You should already have my updated list. Just let me know, if not. I would be pleased and happy to supply it once more.

Thanks Michael. I knew about that segment. Has it ever been printed on super 8 magnetic sound?

And Dino, this is really great and helpful, considering not all shorts were dubbed and aired here in Italy for several reasons.
Thanks a lot, pals.
Always so kind.

Hi Mike, how are you?
I'm actually trying to find the time to watch your OUR GANG dvd's with all MGM episodes from 1938 to 1944.

You were right. Some are funny, but lot of them just put forward lots of locations and ideas again. And the result is a little redundant and repetitous.

At least I have now a complete 'vision' of the whole series. As I already stated, all the 'After Hal Roach' shorts had never been aired here in Italy.

So, once more, thanks a lot for giving me this chance.
Ciao.

I checked an old catalog from 1978, where Blackhawk had listed all but FREE EATS, BEGINNER'S LUCK, BIG EARS, and THE FIRST SEVEN YEARS from the available 80 Roach talkies. A catalog from 1981 shows a drop to about 65, with FREE EATS, BEGINNER'S LUCK, and THE FIRST SEVEN YEARS all listed, but no BIG EARS. I need to dig out some more old catalogs to check when and if BIG EARS was ever released by them. If not, I stand corrected in my earlier post stating that all 80 were released.

I have also to make a new list to check what I still miss.

I can't find BIG EARS -- my Blackhawk catalogs stop at the end of 1981. Perhaps it was released later?

After some inquiry, learned that BIG EARS was released in 16mm, though late (about the summer of '83) from Blackhawk - Shorty

Joe, Tony and Dino,
are you in a position to supply a list of all silent shorts issued by Blackhawk?
The only catalogue I have (thanks once again, Joe) is dated 1976, but I think others were released before Blackhawk has closed shop.

Any help, please? I know for sure about the following:

1 Big Business 1924
2 Mary, Queen of Tots 1925
3 Uncle Tom’s Uncle 1926
4 Shivering Spooks 1926
5 Dog Heaven 1927
6 Spook Spoofing 1928
7 Rainy Days 1928
8 Barnum & Ringling, Inc. 1928
9 Crazy Horse 1928
10 Old Gray Hoss 1928
11 Election Day 1929
12 Noisy Noise 1929
13 Wiggle Your Ears 1929
14 Fast Freight 1929
15 Little Mother 1929

Are there more?
