Is there anyplace left that will develop Super 8 Sound Ektachrome 160? I've come across a few rolls that have been kept frozen since purchased with an expiration date of 1997. I'm sure they would come out fine, but where to process?

Also: I have 4 rolls of Tri-X B/W super-8. Can anyone recommend a place to process and how much this normally costs?

hi raymond you can check out this place i had some b/w film developed here a few years ago not sure about sound film they had a pretty quick turn around time.

Raymond, what process type does the box specify? The sound stripe is of no consequence, if I'm not mistaken.

The Ektachrome 160 can be processed here, and now pretty much only here:

http://www.super8.nl/english/e_index.htm

It is the SM-26 process, which means it has a special lab routine to remove the film's anti-halation backing.

Hi Raymnond,

I would like to hear what is your result of 1997 stock, since I posted here two weeks ago regarding my 1997 Kodachrome, which I was going to shoot.

Rocky Mountain Film Labs do Ektachrome SM:

Film Rescue is in North Dakota and can help too:

They don't mention the SM process specifically but do mention anything but current Ektachrome as OK.

Raymond-

I'm glad you asked this. I have a roll of ektachrome 160 that needs to be processed as well.

Called Rocky Mountain- no way! They said it would be a one year wait for processing [Mad]

Called Film Rescue- Every six weeks, and much cheaper than Rocky Mountain! I'll be using them. [Wink]
