I have a few of these Super 8 sound colour shorts from Panorama International from the 1970's.

I have New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco and Las Vegas.

They are amongst the sharpest Super 8 productions I have in my collection, all are 200ft. The colours have all turned a little, but mostly they have blues left.

The NYC one is from 1975, the one on LA shows Star Wars showing at the Chinese Theatre in one shot and Earthquake in another! These are top little shorts.

Does anyone else have them?

I know there is one on the Grand Canyon that I don't have; are there any others?

Hi David,
I have 'Los Angeles' and 'Grand Canyon'. I have a few other travelogues which I have yet to watch that are in unmarked boxes, so they may be Panorama too.
Totally agree with you on the sharpness. In fact, all round I think they are very professionally done.

A question for our American members; in 'Los Angeles' there is clearly a sign at or near the Chinese cinema which says 'Star Wars' in the usual Star Wars font, however the documentary is dated 1975, a year before Star Wars was filmed. Is the film wrongly dated, or is there another explanation?

Dave, I first saw them advertised here in Australia in 1978.

You are correct, it does say 1975 at the end of Los Angeles, perhaps it was updated with scenes and they did not update the original end title?

The NYC one is similar in many ways to the Castle short that was out at the same time, but the Castle short was shot a few years before going by the mid 1960's Plymouths and Dodges. It is nowhere near as sharp as the Panorama International version.
