Hi all,

Different with other cartoons (e.g Disney, Tex Avery, Hanna Barbera, Looney Tunes, etc), I never got failed screening Tom & Jerry to random audiences. Yesterday during my camping, I brought several reels of T&J and everybody laughed so loud, no matter old or young, boy or girl.

My experience with other cartoons, the audiences are very selective that not all ages or gender will like it.

So I wanted to have all T&J available on super 8.

By searching here and there and with the help of the long-gone website http://inet.uni2.dk/~waltherk/tomjerry.htm which I could retrieve back using the wayback machine (internet archive), I finally could make a complete list.

Below is the most complete list of T&J available on super 8mm. There are 123 titles, and may be more (can someone add?).

Anyone has all of them? I o
already have 112 titles so far.

It would probably be easier if I put what I don't have. I'm missing about 10. One of these days I'll finish my reviews of all and post a link. Just at a glance, JERRY & THE LION & TEXAS TOM originated from Red Fox. I have the box it came in for LION.

I would avoid buying the following for mostly quality of print:
Baby Puss-brownish color
His Mouse Friday-bad cut
Mice Follies-brownish color
Mouse Trouble-soft

More than likely I won't be getting the Chuck Jones T&J's.
Timid Tabby-soft

Great list Winbert. Mostly my MGM's are faded yet most of my Waltons are OK.

Larry, as I am more a completish, I won't mind with color issues or sharpness issue.

Moreover, I notice that if we screen other films to general audiences (non-collector), the first thing they like to comment is the color which is not comparable with their DVD. But when screening T&J, they tend not to comment anything but enjoying the film.

This is to show that T&J's story is more attractive than the quality of the picture.

PS: I really wanted that someone with vast collection of T&J from Film Office can give here their French/German titles of the original English title to complete the above list.

I found that films from Film Office are always on AGFA so color will always good. I bought several FO titles which actually had been in my collection in English version due to the lack of my understanding.

pss: no matter what languages were dubbed, T&J is still enjoyable because dialog is not important in this movies.

Magnificent list!

... and, a few of the Chuck Jones Tom and Jerry's that I didn't know were on super 8! Once again, great list!

Is there a reason why the MGM super 8 titles don't appear ? Just by chance, I have two in front of me Tee Fot Two and Night Before Christmas but I know I have other titles. They were more than probably relased by other companies also I just wonder why the name MGM doesn't appear in the list.

Paul-You have bad timing. I have those except Life with Tom, which is just a generic box from Film Office. I am moving and they are packed away already. Remind me sometime in December and I will scan those for you unless you get them. They were packed just last Sunday. If I have time I will look in the packed boxes.

Watched the T&J Cat Fishin tonight. Very funny, and a great Walton print. But the ending is marred by Walton Films inserting their dull and uninteresting logo before the MGM end title! What a nerve! [Mad]

Funnily enough, I watched it the night before, Paul!

Winbert
On your first listing some titles have * against them.
What does it signify?

Maurice, as I wrote above, it was originally taken from a website (which unfortunately is a dead link now). So it was copied and pasted here. I believe there is a meaning of those (*) marks, but I no longer remember now.

I am sorry.

BTW, do you happen to have those TJ on bold typed?

Thank you, Winbert. No, I do not have any marked in bold type.
