Thanks guys, I have added your titles to the above lst.

Tony, what do you mean with "Official"? is it the name of a company?

Yes, Official Films. Walton also released the 4 THE NOOSE HANGS HIGH excerpts.

Although I don't really consider it a short, I believe "Getting a Job" (A&C TV Show) was also released on Super 8.

MEET CAPTAIN KIDD might have been released in 400 foot as well by Viacom.

Add WHO'S ON FIRST (full version close to 200 feet),MEET FRANKENSTEIN, HOLLYWOOD AND BUST, MEET THE MUMMY, DOUBLE CROSS AT CRISS CROSS, ROCKET AND ROLL, RIOT ON ICE, RIDE'EM COWBOY, NO INDIANS PLEASE, GOBS IN A MESS, and TAKE BUS, PAY LATER to the list of 200 foot Castles. There should be a total of 23 Castle 200 footers.

Come on Shorty, you're not paying attention.

You are not including the 50'?

I have a Have Badge Will Chase, B&W Silent 50', but it might be Regular 8, not Super 8

And Take Bus, Pay Later, 200' B&W Silent

I don't think the intent was to list every format. The Castles were also released in Standard 8 and 16mm, both silent and sound. U8s in 16. Most were also released in 50 foot versions with the same title. Officials were released in 16mm also, and possibly Standard 8 -- not sure if silent versions were released.

Hi Tony thanks a lot to complete the list!

Yes you are right that the intention is not to list any format available.

BTW, do you happen to know if titles available on 200" but also released on 400' share the same scenes (e.g Meet Jekyll And Hyde)?

These full features actually made it onto super as well ...

Africa Screams
Jack and the Beanstalk
Abbott and Costello meet Captian Bligh

OK, I'm not sure on the title of that last one, but I Charles Laughton played the Captian. These three made it onto super because they were not owned by Universal 8 and made seperately by Abbott and Costello. The last two were both made in color! I have both "Jack" and "Africa". "Africa" has the better humor, (it also has longtime collaborator Shemp Howard in the cast as well). My copy of "Jack" has very good color and is nifty in that it has a "Wizard of OZ" opening in that the first six or so minutes or in sepai tone which then, upon Costello telling a boy he's babysitting a bedtime story, then switched to color! This was filmed in "Super-Cinecolor" which, quite frankly wasn't all that super (especially compared to Technicolor), but it's still fun seeing Abbott and Costello is one of thier rare color appearances.

Thanks guys, but as indicated earlier, I don't mean to talk the full feature. The reason just simply when I showed my AC (short/digest) to my kids, they laughed so loudly. But when screening a full feature they cannot follow the beginning and get bored so quickly.

So I am now trying to complete my digests/shorts.

cheers

You're welcome, Winbert.

I have the following 400 footers:

Buck Privates Come Home - includes all of Midget Car Maniacs
Meet The Mummy - includes all of 200 foot version
Meet Frankenstein - includes 95% of 200 foot version -- missing opening scene of 200 footer
Meet The Keystone Kops - simply Have Badge and Hollywood & Bust spliced together.
In The Navy - 200 footer contains the hammock scene which is not in the 400 footer
In Society - simply Knights of the Bath and Champs of the Chase spliced together.

To me, Super-Cinecolor looks like a B&W movie colorized.

FYI -- I don't think OYSTERS AND MUSCLES, FUN ON THE RUN, and KITCHEN MECHANICS (all from CO-EDS) were ever released in Super 8 or Standard 8 sound or silent, only in 16mm sound and silent. (If anyone knows otherwise, please comment). BTW, I think OYSTERS AND MUSCLES and FUN ON THE RUN are 2 of the best Castle extracts.
