Not cheap but it can't be easy to find these in such pristine condition with very little use. Does anyone recall what they cost when last available new?

Wow that's $5700. US dollars. Looks like a sweet machine. Can you still get lamps for this machine?

Adrian, I remember seeing an advertisement in Movie Maker around 1983 and from memory I think then they were around £1700 from the Widescreen Centre. I would imagine the last ones sold could have easily gone above £2k if it was beyond 1988 by the time the last ones sold back then?

I will post a photo in a while after going through the magazines of the actual ad from the Widescreen Centre I have seen and I will look to the latest one I can find also.

Movie Maker issue October 1982 projector guide under C.Z. Scientific Instruments Ltd gives a price of £1,869 for a GS-1200XR with f1.0 lens.
This had the 250w Xenon-arc lamp, I assume that this is the same model as the one on eBay.

It is Maurice (Xenon Recording Model I presume) and thanks for posting, you beat me to it. Ha ha

In response to Alans question, lamps are still available from CHC and other places. I know someone like Kevin Clark or Maurizio or Ugo could tell you more in depth Alan if you are interested.I believe there are still many users of these magnificent machines.

Not so long ago my dear friends old Elmo Xenon I used to project with for him sold for around 3.5K I believe and that projector was very well used indeed also damaged on top. To see such a mint, and I mean mint lightly used machine off the top shelf is rare.

Thanks by the way for the mails folks over recent months.

I know exactly where you are coming from Andrew. I'm really hoping this stays in our green and pleasant land you will have guessed, if I could choose a buyer for it I would rather than have the lass list it. You will have noticed I am pretty fond of this particular machine my friend and it shows in its condition most certainly. Spending on this professional type of equipment requires full viewing in person and the fact it was only used for amateur film projection rather than showing commercial 24 fps films is a REEL plus point.

You are after my mint spare MK3 as well then Andrew? You should pop over for a brew, cake and a viewing.

I have to admit - Andrew - Ugo is more aknowledgeable than I on these machines, especially as long as lamps go.
