Hope this is allowed but if not then remove it with my apologies.

https://www.facebook.com/groups/512434208906044/

I co-own a DVD/Blu-ray rental business in Matamata , New Zealand , and thought I'd start a Facebook page of my film hobby hoping to be in contact with more local collectors.
I visit this forum daily and will always as it is great.

Cheers,
Clinton.

Hi Clinton. I always used to stop in Matamata when travelling to Rotorua. Is Ronnies cafe still there?

The town is Hobbit mad - well most of the town are - I actually haven't been out to the movie set as it doesn't really interest me much.
It's a multi-million dollar tourist attraction that the info centre says is great for Matamata businesses for $$$$$!
But to be honest the money goes to the Hobbit site and maybe a coffee shop near the info centre as the tourist place has its own pub etc.
But it has put Matamata on the map! [Smile]

Yes it sure does, and statues etc.I used to work opposite the Hobbiton sign and I wish I had a $ for every photo taken of it....I'd be a millionaire, much like the owner of the farm the tourist attraction is on!!!
