Are the sound heads of Eumig S807D and S810D the same? Or is the sound head of S810D higher quality than S807D?

What about the "high quality sound" ones or do they just have a bigger amp.

So basically the only difference between Eumig S807D and S810D is S810D has better lens and bigger speakers but both have the same sound quality?

I always thought the HQS machines were tweaked for less hum.

(I mean: still enough to satisfy, if you are into that kind of thing!)

Actually if you can tame the hum, an 800 series Eumig can sound pretty good through an external amp and speakers.

So maybe same sound heads but more electronics to create less hum.

These machines are kind of genetically predisposed to hum.

They put the power transformer high and forward, and maybe too close to the head. I've always wondered if maybe a lot of the hum is the stray magnetic field from the transformer being picked up by the head.

I think Eumig came to the same conclusion Steve. The 900 series all have the transformer as far away from the head as they could get it.
