I have a few metal (seemingly steel- or tin-made) 200' and 400' 8mm film cans.

Does anyone know if they do or might have an adverse effect on magnetic film strip if such film is stored within?

Many thanks for any help here.

I don't think I would trust a steel can to be secure with a magnetic film. Steel cans, over time, have a habit of becoming rusty which might cause a problem.

If you do intend to use a metal can an aluminium one would be suitable.
