Universal 8 never offered these 400ft silent "Best Of Horror" reels when I was buying digests. Are they just a compilation reel of the 8 fifty-footers? If so were they printed that way or was it Universal 8's way of getting rid of inventory of the Castle 50ft reels by splicing them together?

Timothy,

This is a compilation of the 50 foot Castle releases. No splices and no spaces between each short subject. It cuts directly from the end of one film to the opening title of the next. Universal 8 also did this with Abbott & Costello, WC Fields and Woody Woodpecker 50 footers.
