Chaps,
I'm after a reasonably priced scope lens to use with my Super 8 and 16mm projector. I can't afford to get into a bidding contest with some loon on EBay, so I'm hoping someone might have a spare to sell.

Hi,

when bidding on Kowa or Isco lenses, it's best to bid on eBay Australia - since even with 30EUR shipping the anamorphots will be much cheaper than any Kowa or Isco an any European or Northamerican eBay simply because you will be the only bidder.
If any 2x anamorphot will do, you'll find cheap ones on the European eBays: Rectimascope, Sankor, Sun, Möller, ... . As a rule of thumb the continental eBays are cheaper than the UK one as well.

BTW: Have you tried the non-eBay-internet-auction-pages like http://www.qxl.co.uk/ or the second-hand-ads in your local newspapers?

I have a spare "Proskar Anamorphic-16" lens its made in Japan in excellent condition, however you would need to have bracket to hold the lens sleeve which has a outside rear diameter of about 42mm let me know if you are interested.

Be careful as most scope lenses designed for 16mm will give cut off when used with super 8 zoom lenses at the wide angle end of the range. This I think will be the case with this one. You need a lens with a large rear element such as the Kowa 8Z which I think is a re-badged Kowa 16H.

This topic has been covered on here many times. If you go for one of the many plentiful 16mm scope lenses which go fairly cheap on ebay then think of this restriction before you buy. If you have a short throw between your projector and screen this means you have your zoom at the wide angle end of its range. Too small a rear element on your scope lens will cause vignetting.

My Elmoscope 16 which is a re-badged Kowa 8Z works superbly at all focal lengths of my Schneider 1.1 zoom lens and this is ideally what your looking for.

Also worth taking note if you projector lens a long sleeve at the front, as this will keep its front element away from the scope lens. The one I mentioned on ebay was also used for Super 8mm filming.
