Must be in mint condition. Not interested in Kodak "presstape." Was never really good using that kind. Prefer a decent standard 8mm splicer that has pins to hold tape down before setting to film, so that sprockets align with the pre cut tapes. Accepting recommendations of kinds that I can be on the lookout to buy.

I am all set with super 8 stuff. This really must be old fashioned reg 8/standard 8mm format.

Chip. If you get stuck for a Std 8 tape splicer my friend has a as new & box one for sale and is not yet listed on ebay. You can contact him through his ebay like if its of interest.
Its a very nice item and I have seen it myself.

Darn it.

I paid for one splicer waiting for it to arrive. Realized my 16mm Ciro Guillotine tape splicer could make 8mm splices all this time. For those interested, the application is just a few steps different...

Peel the tape over the top side press and cut.

Lift the film off the matrix along with the double wide splice tape.

Bend over the other side with your fingers and depress.

Reposition the film to the matrix and punch out the sprockets covered by the tape on the bottom side. Repeat this step several times to make sure all sprockets under the tape are punched.

Darn it. I'll take the 8mm splicer anyway!

I'm looking for a tape splicer because I just bought some press tape but is cement better for 8mm/S8mm?

Tape splices are best as cement has problems with polly film stock.
