Hey guys, got this project a few months back and have run film through it with mixed results. Now I've got some time to go inside and clean it out and see what the deal is. I've found some resources online for this projector but not an actual manual.
Specifically, the big problem I'm having is with the film speed. It is supposed to be able to switch from silent to sound speed, but I've been unable to do this with the provide lever. It seems jammed, so when I opened up the projector to take a look, what I think is going on is a flathead screw is preventing this from moving. It seems that if I unscrew this and leave it out, I will be able to move the lever and switch between speeds. However, this just seems very strange to me and wanted to make sure this is okay to do first especially since the quick start guide implies that I should be able to move the lever freely without any additional work. Does anybody have any experience with this projector and can confirm what I'm saying is accurate? Also, if anyone has a PDF manual (manual, not the service book which I have) it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! Here are some pics to try and explain.

I was thinking that the screw might have been replaced sometime
Royce with a deeper head.Could you remove the screw, move the lever, then replace and then try it.Could you replace with a screw
that would clear your lever?

Here is intstructions on a Bell & Howell 1552.

It says to remove the speed locking screw. Then while the projector is running move the lever. When you are back on sound speed, replace screw to prevent accidental movement of lever.
