I picked this up on 16mm scope (with perfect color) at what should have been a bargain--except instead of a second and third reel, it has two copies of the third reel (one with a few minutes more footage at the beginning and end), and a "2" was written over the "3" on the leader for one of them, thus posing as the second reel. (Oddly, the copy of the third reel that is complete reverses this, with a "3" written over a "2.") The middle third of the movie--the one where the heist actually takes place--is missing. It blows. But it was cheap enough and I am smitten enough with it that I am reluctant to return it unless I have a complete copy to replace it with, or of course I could just pick up the one reel if luck had it ready for me. Can anybody help? Know anyone who might be able to?
Thanks,
Andy

Er...maybe I don't need this after all. The seller thinks he may have found the real second reel. Here's hoping!

keeping the fingers crossed for you Andy!

BTW, for what it is worth, if I had known that title was for sale and had a crack at it, you may not be having the problem with the wrong reel right now [Cool]

Well, the seller scraped up two more reels from somewhere, but I am still missing a few 3-minute chunks...out of five reels the movie is still incomplete. I guess this is going to be the project that haunts my days, so *please* if anyone comes across even a short clip of this film, let me know! I would be very much obliged...On the upside, I do now have a version (once I get the splicer out) that, apart from requiring a brief explanation of one missing chunk, is more or less showable...yay...
