I'm not good at writing reviews, so I won't even try it.

However, I must say this film is one of Disney's best ever.

If you love nature, wild life, this is an absolute must see family film. Rated G, scenes of survival are not too intense. Make sure to stay for the end credits, brief footage of behind the scenes cinematography. Narrated throughout by James Earl Jones.

Disney has struck gold again!!!!

In USA theaters now.

Sorry Chip but Disney are just a label here, this is the BBC Planet Earth series 2007 re-edited.

Some may prefer the BBC series, to each their own, but this movie does have some new footage. For those of us who didn't see the series, or those who would enjoy the update, this is very compelling. Most of all, go see this amazing photography where it is meant to be seen on the BIG screen!!!!

Just one question about this film before I go and see it ...

PLEASE tell me that this film doesn't have some moralistic
"Global Warming we evil humans must stop our destruction of the planet" speeches in it.

I'm so tired of the constant preaching on this, especially when
it is so entirely wrong ...

Strange, but sorry if I have upset anyone, sometimes what you write does not always come over the way you meant it to be read, if you know what I mean.
I was just trying to state that the photography here was not a Disney creation, and that if you are interested in seeing the BBC original version then you can. I’m sure Disney has done a good job, and it will give everyone the opportunity to see this marvellous footage again in a different way as seen by Disney.

Personally I think I might prefer the original, if only because it is narrated by someone who knows the subject inside and out, but that does not mean that the other does not have something to give. I am sure the voice of James Earl Jones, will give it a more Hollywood appeal to some.

At the end of the day the photography is fantastic, no matter what way you see it, and well worth a visit to the cinema.

Chris,I'm a devotee of David Attenborough and have all his stunning series.Sharp as a tack on my 100 inch screen.I reckon,these nature series and Andre Rieu,are "ultimate entertainment" [Smile]

I haven't received an answer to my question ... does this have some "global warming sermonizing" to it?

It's just that I know the actual facts about what is affecting climate change (here's a clue: It's not us.), and when I watch PBS or any other number of network nature shows, they always go off on a tangent about us losing all of this and its all due to greedy bad humans. While there are some things being done by humans, (the mowing down of the rain forests for land ect.), I just get tired of the lies masqeurading as truth, (and people just eating it up, being spoon fed).

So, if I go to see this, no matter how lovely the photography, if it has the usual diatribe, I'll just get up and walk out, so I'd like to know ahead of time, if you could please let me know.

Been a couple of years since i last watched the program Osi, but i think there are some references made about polar caps and Amazon forest, etc. Don’t know about the Disney one though, maybe not as much as don’t want to scare the Kiddies.

Wow, Osi, doesn't look like any of us have actually seen it yet, though I would like to soon. Apparently there is indeed some reference to warmishness, though not to the extent of the likes of Happy Feet; here's a review that gives you some perspective. Whether you'll like Earth or not may be hard to gauge from the review, but it sure beats trying to find wildlife on Mars!
